Review by hotel critic
Hotel Nazionale, a historic gem nestled just a short walk away from the lively center of Desenzano, welcomed us with open arms. Completely restructured yet exuding timeless charm, this Three Stars Superior Hotel provided a warm welcome that instantly made us feel at home. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds ensuring a good night's sleep after a day of exploration. The hotel staff, embodying the quintessential Italian hospitality, were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The buffet breakfast was a delightful start to our days, featuring delicious coffee and even prosecco for a touch of luxury. The pool area, though too cold for a dip during our visit, offered a relaxing spot to unwind and soak in the Tuscan sun.The central location of the hotel made it a convenient base for our excursions. We explored Sirmione by ferry and ventured to Salo by bus, all easily accessible from the hotel's vicinity. The nearby restaurants provided ample dining options, allowing us to savor the flavors of Italian cuisine after days filled with exploration and sightseeing. As a fervent admirer of Italian culture and history, staying at Hotel Nazionale was a truly enriching experience. The intertwining of past and present, epitomized by the hotel's blend of historic charm and modern comforts, resonated deeply with my passion for heritage. I look forward to returning to this haven of hospitality in the heart of Desenzano del Garda, a place that captures the essence of Italian elegance and warmth.
